The Level D professional simulators that offer comparable vestibular fidelity start at $250,000. Yaw U delivers the same core physics — gravity vector conversion, continuous yaw, real pitch and roll — at 2.2% of that price.

The key difference is the yaw axis. D-Box and seat movers provide pitch and roll onset cues — excellent for what they do — but have zero yaw rotation. SFX-100 and DOF Reality platforms have limited yaw (20–30°), meaning they stop providing vestibular input after 1–2 seconds of any sustained turning maneuver. In a flat spin, a coordinated turn, a carrier orbit — they go silent on the most important axis. Yaw U has no mechanical limit. It runs continuously. That's a categorical difference, not a marginal one.

For vestibular-conflict-caused simulator sickness: yes. The cause is a mismatch between visual motion (DCS world moving) and vestibular stillness (inner ear reporting zero motion). Setup & Space

The platform requires 1.5m × 1.5m of floor space. For 360° yaw rotation with safe clearance in all orientations, a 2.0m diameter clearance is recommended. Ceiling height: 2.4m or higher. The platform reclines to a maximum of 180cm when the seat tilts fully back — verify your ceiling clearance at that extension. A spare bedroom or dedicated room works well. Mark your safety zone before setup.

The core motion base ships pre-assembled. Setup is: attach the gaming frame, connect cables, place it in your space — roughly 30–60 minutes. GameLink auto-discovers Yaw U on your network and auto-installs the DCS World Export.lua plugin. OXRMC for Pimax takes about 10 minutes following the provided guide.
